which area is best to stay at? close to airport, cambodian cultural village or the town center! I found a hotel (empress angkor) which is across the street from the cambodian cultural village for $59/night. is that a good location/deal?

You can get decent hotel rooms for as low $20 per night. The site below has a lot of useful and current info on traveling in Cambodia.

best bet is in the town centre, total luxury, don't go past the FCC - beautiful. but if your budget doesn't quiet stretch that far, we stayed at molly mallones - yes, funny in an irish pub in cambodia, run by a french guy, very comfy and close to the awesome chinese dumpling house!
