I'm Singaporean, and in Singapore, and I'm going to Jakarta. But I'm not to sure when and where I need to pay airport taxes and how much airport taxes are. Do I pay them when I'm at the Changi Airport? or Jakarta airport? or Both? I've always been travelling with my parents and never bothered about this. Now I'm travelling alone! So if you guys could help, it'll be great.

Say I am trying to go from LAX to JFK. I found a cheaper fare that goes SFO-LAX-JFK. Is it ok if I just "skip" the first leg and get on at LAX?

I mean, someone that is so large that he/she overflows onto your seat; forcing you to have to either move or sit through a two to four hour flight, very uncomfortably.

Id like to share a story and ask others to comment. My story started yesterday on my way home from the somewhere on the west coast. I had the misfortune to meet the world's most annoying man. He would not stop talking from the time we took off until the time I told him to please leave me alone. Has anyone else had this experience, and if so how did you tell the person to leave you alone?

I am booked on a flight on Alaska Airlines next year with my 1.5 year old. He is flying on a full fare adult ticket not a discounted infant fare (usually 1/2 price). Both our tickets are points tickets (Perth through to Vancouver on Qantas then Alaska AL). Qantas does not require a booster seat for children in their own seat, even if they are under 2 (ie. infants) so I was not planning on bringing a car seat as I am travelling alone and will have enough to carry as it is. I read on the Alaska AL website that "children travelling on 50% infant ticket seats must use a booster/car seat approved for car and air travel". I'm wondering, given that my son will be travelling on a full fare adult ticket whether he needs the booster seat? What will they do if I don't have one, not let us on the flight? Or, shall I just lie and say he's 2 - or just board the flight with him in his own seat w/out booster and they will assume is is two and not longer an infant and therefore no booster required.

i accepted a job offer from a cruisehip that sails in the caribbben...very tempting i admit...the problem is in order to get there and take the ship i have to make a trnsatlantic flight in total 14 hours. i dont know if the flight scares me more or the fact that i have to go through this alone and get there alone. I am scared of flying specially so many long hours and alone. i am scared of getting claustophobia or pannick attacks or dizzy spells. can anybody help me out, giving helpful hints? Also i would like to know whether someone know what stewardesses do in case of such emetgrncies like people on flights that freak out beyond control. do they have pills? do they talk the people through? its important

They loose your luggage and then they make it difficult to talk to them. If you call customer services they get paid for your call as it is an 0870 number, which is meant to be answered quickly but they can keep you on the phone for at least 30 minutes waiting.
