BA have a pisspoor attitude for two reasons, one, their management is so far up their own backsides it's not true and two, they are, basically, skint. But then again so are many European and US based Airlines. Why be polite? They have an apallingly bad attitutde, treat customers like cattle and all they can do is say be polite? Oh, yeah, "security".Or is it because most of their staff are really such a spineless bunch of sanctimoniuos egits? No, do yourself a favour fly Star Alliance or better still on any Middle Eastern carrier (Gulf Air, Emirates, Etihad, Kuwait Airlines, Qatar, Royal Jordanian etc). They have money, style and finesse..... and it shows!

In recent years I have found BA to be quite good with customer service, particularly if you write and send stuff recorded delivery.
Fifteen or so years ago they went through a very poor phase when they were the only ones who believed that they were the worlds favourite airline but now they have started working harder again you should have no real problems

Well, working myself for the airline I have to say that is true! It's impossible to contact lost baggage on the phone.
What I suggest to do is write a letter to any of the customer service address: at least someone will notice you and maybe you'll get some vouchers to spend on the plane.
I think BA customers' service is excellent, especially compared to other airlines (see Ryanair or BMI).
Well.. good luck with your bags!
I forgot... if you don't like something.. COMPLAIN ABOUT IT! Because if you don't ask, you won't get! But remember to be POLITE!

Sorry that you had a bad experience. I flew with BA last December, and I was somewhat disappointed too. I had tried to book my flights online, but once I got to the screen that asks for credit card info, the website froze up and I could not enter the info. I called customer service and was also put on hold for at least 30 minutes. When I finally got a live person, she told me I would have to pay an additional $20.00 for booking my tickets over the phone. I argued that I wouldn't be doing this if their website was working properly. She waived the fee, and said that I should be getting an email with my itinerary soon. It did arrive, but my name was misspelled. I had to call and wait on hold again for this to be corrected. British Airways then tried to charge me for a name change to my ticket. I couldn't believe it! Why should I pay for their error? I finally spoke to a supervisor who waived that fee. My tickets were mailed to me in about a week. Surprisingly everything was correct. Luckily, flying with them was uneventful. I had no problems with the flight or baggage.

It's time to changed... Try MAS (Malaysia Airlines) or SIA (Singapore Airlines). Both of 'em got good reputation in customer services.

I agree their servie is horrible but if you think they are bad you should try Air France! I do a lot of travel and do travel reviews on my site http://www.bombasticlife.com and starting a site bombastic or not where you can write your own reviews. You should write a review about them, that is what I find the best way to let them know what we thinik about them. Go to http://www.bombasticlife.com/b_bon.html and write a review. I'll have the site up soon.

That's Ba for you. They seem to think they can get away with almost anything as they used to have a good reputaion. Now they seem to think the name alone can carry them
