47 Foreign Tourists were attacked, robbed and assaulted by armed gunmen in Cape Town on 29/11. See news24.com. Seems the modus operandi is to lure foreign tourists into the townships on the pretence they are safe. Organise school kids to put on the usual act of crying and telling stories about being victims etc. Secure donations and if they still have money left rob them. Blame apartheid and offer trauma counselling.

Is it just me or do you think south africans are brought up with more respect than in other countrys. I live in london and almost everyday i'm shocked at the kids here, the way they talk to their parents without any respect, the jobs vadelising the busses, throwing fireworks at people. to be honest i'm scared at the kids over here. Young chavs getting pregnant at 12 and 13. I know this happens in almost every country but, if I or any of my friends talked to elder people like they do i woudn't be able to sit like for 2 days. Is it just me or does any of you living abroad see it aswell?

Here are some to get you going:
1. The African Elephant is the largest land mammal.
2. More than 50% of the Paragliding world records have been set in South Africa.
3. The largest baked pizza on record was made in Norwood, South Africa according to the 1995 Guiness Book of World Records.

Please don't list a lot of facts. Choose your favorite and submit that. Best answer will go to the one fact that most of us haven't heard of!

I've always believed that complaining at restaurants will eventually lead to better service. And I have done so on many occasions. If I'm not satisfied with anything, I'll complain to the management. Do you agree with that? Do you think that if South Africans complain more about the crime in South Africa things will change for the better? Not that complaining about food is anywhere close to complaining about crime.

The crime in South Africa is a serious headache for many of us. Do you think that we are blinded by the beauty of our country and choose not to see the ugly? Have we accepted crime as the norm because we don't know any better? Many South Africans abroad (not all) look at the crime differently, because they have experienced less crime. Do you agree?
