Wild Animals live in large Nature Reserves. Our largest reserve, the Kruger National Park is about the size of Scotland I believe.
The Parks Board take great care, sending experienced vets out to test the animals every season for diseases, and sick or injured animals will be taken care of or culled depending on the scale of the problem.
We have a RSPCA, which is like the British SPCA, Society for the Protection and Care of Animals, which takes care of animals, on a rural and domestic scale, on both farmlands, in the cities, and even wild animals that are in danger.

There is the Kruger National Park where all animals roam the plains and live freely. Poaching is totally illegal and your car is searched on entry for weapons and on exit for dead carcasses. There are many species and types of animals there and they breed them too. They allow no harm to befall the animals in the park.

Add in:
I forgot to mention about the SPCA which takes care and heals many sick and hurt animals-mainly pets. They will shelter a homeless dog, confiscate and abused cat, etc etc.

Anria said it all, however, the rabbit (above me) is not satisfied with the care it receives.
