Clifton Beach described by Discovery Travel Magazine:

"At the northwest tip of South Africa 's Cape Peninsula lies the swanky coastal gem Clifton Beach, a haven for international hipsters and jet-setters. Clifton is actually a series of four beaches, each separated by a stretch of granite boulders. The beach is sprawling and clean, reflecting the brilliant African sunshine off white sand and throngs of tanned bodies. A distinct vibe is felt at Clifton , owing in part to the mystique of Table Mountain, which looms gorgeously in the beach's background, and in part to the glamorous pulse of the surrounding neighborhood."

Awards 2006, Discovery Travel Magazine:

* World's best beach in Spring: 1. Clifton Beach, Cape Town 2. Crete Greece

* World's best beach in Fall: 1. Cannon Beach, Ore 2. Clifton Beach, Cape Town

* World's best beaches for Romance: 1. Anse Source d'Argent, Seychelles 2. Clifton Beach , Cape Town

Camps Bay is also magnificent! Here is a pic of Clifton: http://www.capespirit.com/Overlooking%20Clifton%20Beach%20Cape%20Town%20pictures%20South%20Africa%20Cape%20Spirit%20Travel.jpg

As those above me already said, Clifton is great.
My favourite though are the PE beaches - great sand, the water is not too cold and the people there are awesome.

Sunrise in Ballito. The access through the hole in the wall from Thompsons Bay is just stunning and the privacy (OUT of Season) is great.
