Haha, that is funny. Ok so I personally am a reservist and I think that some of the cops do do a good job! People cannot say because we don't have enough police in our country! That is the reason why when you call the police for something like a house robbery after it has happened, the response is so slow! The reservists in my opinion do more than alot of the permanents because the permanents get paid and so they don't care. The reservists do it voluntarily and therefore want to do their job!

Hi Porgie
There are still a lot of police men & woman out their that are trying to make a difference. I was in the security forces for 6 yr in that time i met a lot of police officers that were very passionet about there work, but i also met a lot that only joined the police with the main purpuse of making miss use of the benefits that the police offers. Now these are the police officers that give the police a bad name, as long as they get there monthly pay they worry about the rest

There are just not enough dedicated police anymore to serve the community and that is why a lot of people are starting to take the law into their own hands, vigilantes are actually doing a better job.
The police force in general are not well paid and therefore concentrate on helping crime syndicates because of the huge kick backs they get, for example the Nigerian drug and prostitution rings that operate freely in Jo'burg and Durban, the various chop shops in the major cities where most hi-jacked cars end up in, there are just so many illegal activities that they are involved in to mention them all.

Hi Porgie..some police officers are trying their best to do their jobs..an example. Our business narrowly escaped an attemted robbery yesterday..lucky no-one was hurt and no money was stolen. Well - the police/investigators really did their job and the sindicate leader was arrested last night! That is a big hooray!I think there are more stories like these out there...and for every hard working policeman/woman and reservist I just want to say - good luck!

Well, if you consider them showing up at a crime scene 2 hours later....Then yes they are doing their jobs. As for the criminals, seems like that occupation field is growing....I wonder maybe I should also get a degree in that...Hell it pays alot!!! As for the pic, happens one in a blue moon. If only crime fighting was that easy :)

You will need to define "their job" considering the continuous links to crime syndicates and the extortion and corrupt behaviour that prevails in their ranks.
