There are approx 6 of us who want to go on a diving holiday to the Red Sea in May. We are of very mixed ability from never diving before to qualified instructor level so need somewhere to please all. We aren't doing it on the cheap and would like a 5 star hotel, ideally half board or b&b. We would like somewhere with a bit of life but not full of clubs and English / Irish Bars! Can anyone recommend the best resort and a really good hotel?

Hi,
I am due to travel to Egypt later this month. Unfortunately not getting any Egyptian Pounds frm here. Apparently, most ppl prefer to take US dollars and then convert in Egypt.
Any idea on what is the current rate in Egypt for 1 USD?

I have a B.A. in Art and Languges from USA. I will be teaching English in a language school in Egypt. I'm not familiar with the school system here. I need to know what English level they teach in different school grades so I can decide what grades to teach. Like how advanced they go in Grammar, structures..etc in middle and high school. I think it's fine, up until your 15 - 17 where you study for 1 year straight for your exams in june or july i think and then you have to do the same again for another year. And then your marks from the exams you have done decide what university you go too.

That's the only bit i don't like in the system of education in Egypt..

We are trying to book our summer holiday. I have heard good things about Egypt (Sharm in particular) from a friend who goes often - however, I get the impression she doesn't venture out of the hotel. We are thinking of going, and taking our 16 yr old son, who loves snorkelling (one of the reasons we are thinking of this resort). We like nightlife - and staying out till the early hours when we are on holiday. Can anyone tell me if this is the right resort for us? We will be basically
1. sun-worshipping and snorkelling
2. eating out - whats the food like?
3. drinking till the early hours - is it possible here? what are the prices like?
