Who told u so?! We never wanted to be Americans, and specially not these days. If u r talking about the "American Dream" everyone has including non-Egyptians, i guess yes that's true. thought i wont call it American anymore, most of the young ppl in Egypt want to move ANYWHERE abroad, specially Europe, and the gulf. that's bcoz of the bad economic conditions we have, and the high rate of unemployment. However i think if they received a better education, and if they have a good business mind, they'll do more money in Egypt other than any country.

Young people in Egypt know that they have no future. No offence to Egypt i mean i am Egyptian myself and i admit it, there are no jobs in Egypt, so they all want to leave to America, where the economy is much more developed. As much as they love their country and culture they have to leave to be able to live. I hope one day that Egypt's economy can become so much better so people don't have to leave their beloved homeland to be able to establish a living. It's mostly Christians that want to flee, because success for Christians is not tolerated over there.

America is rich,strong,free country,etc..,but when they go there they miss their country,and so as Egyptians in Diaspora ,hate their country and when they leave it they cry at night wishing that they never left it

Maybe because deep in everyone's heart they want the freedom to say what they want, to go to their church, synagog or mosque when they want, the right to assemble in public without being threatened, the right to say that they don't know if they believe in God without fear, the right to vote for their President and laws, the right to watch tv and listen to music without feeling guilty, to have preventative medicine in their hospitals and clinics, the right to write a book, and other rights the west enjoys.
They wish these things for their country, but they also love their country and its beauty and culture.

People in Egypt think that the life here is better! They dont realize that if you miss a day of work you boss will fire you! They do not know that you have to pay alot of bills! They work for less money but they can take vacations from work easier then we can! They think the money here grows on tress and you find it in the street! They think there is freedom here! etc.

because they THINK that people liveng in america have it easy even though here its more work than there and if they were americans they'd be treated better even in their own country
