Hello there- Honestly? It depends on what you're looking for when you say "the best resort".
In my opinion, the resort which gives you the best all round holiday experience with great swimming, diving, beaches, hotels, restaurants and nightlife would be Sharm El Sheik with most of the nightlife being in Nama Bay.
Nama Bay is where the divers all go and it's busy but the hotels around it apart from a few like the Hilton aren't that great. Most people tend to stay in the more up-market hotels away from Nama Bay.
I can personally reccomend the Savoy and The Ritz Carlton, however, if your budget doesn't quite stretch that far, The Baron Palms is excellent and very reasonable. There are two hotels in the Baron complex. One is All Inclusive and the other is not. Both are trully excellent and definatley worth a try.
As for safety, let me say that in the world right now nowhere is "Safe"- Look at whats happened to Thailand? Look at London and New York. However, there have been bombings in recent years in Egypt including Sharm so you are right to be concerned.
From personal experience, I too was concerned the first time we went, it was just after one of the Hilton Hotels were bombed and I was scared stiff. But the security in the bigger hotels is second to none. There are security gates and armed guards and they are constantly manned at all times. Everyone is checked as they go in to the hotel complexes and on our last three visits, I can honestly say that I have felt extremely safe because of the security there is in place.
In the smaller hotels and in and around the bars and nightlife, security is less good, so be warned.
Sharm has rapidly grown into a fabulous holiday resort, and although Hurghada and other resorts may be cheaper, I know that I would feel happier going to Sharm right now. It really is a great place for a holiday.
If you visit the Pyramids, security is very high- everyone is under armed security and although daunting, strangely, it does give you a sense of safety.
I personally would not go to Cairo or Luxor for a holiday for any length of time right now, but thats just me I guess- each to their own.
I hope it all works out for you and whatever you choose, I hope you have a great holiday! Good luck!

whats the mo? i went to Egypt in the summer it was sooo fun .. if u go in the summer then i have to tell its going to be really buzy epically in Alexandria during June and July. they will charge u more if they know ur a visitor not an Egyptian, and people run after you to get money and stuff so choose wisely to who u give to give to who really needs it cuz alot of them lie. and about the resorts and stuff it all depends on your money theres really nice places which cost alot. and beaches in the summer are wayyyy to crowded any where so you won't really enjoy it as much. for resurants i really liked a restaurant called "abu fares il sury" its a sury is Syrian and abu fares is the guys name. sorri i wasn't alot of help but do alittle research

i visit attempt to take this extreme. No, it is not obtainable in Egypt a minimum of until now. For adult adult males the cut back is the swim healthful and no thongs. for females human beings Topless isn't allowed, yet we are actually not very strict approximately that for the time of a few inns. additionally No comprehensive nudity and no thongs. once you're a male asking merely to bypass and watch, extra helpful do no longer as you will get your self extremely some issues. For females they might detect a place with plenty privateness.
