I don't know if it is true or not, but I once heard that a study showed that kellog's cereal has some preservatives that causes cancer... I do not think it is true though
It is true that some Egyptians boycott all Israeli and American products, but mainly Israelis as we do not want to support them with one single penny.
Anyhow, The American brand of kellog's cereal which is being produced in Egypt tastes nothing like the real one. I mean, I love kellog's cornflakes and when I moved from USA to Egypt, I tried it and it has an ok taste but it's just not the same great usual taste I'm used to.

These are just things that get exagerated and then turn into rediculous stories. Especially since 9/11 Egyptians try to boycott American and Israeli companies (well they pretty much boycotted Israeli companies before since they don't want to have any of their money supporting the Israeli government's attacks on Palestinians). They start boycotting and eventually it turns into another reason why they don't by the product. It goes from being were not buying it because it's american to were not buying it because it's toxic! There's nothing actually wrong with Kellog's cereal it's just being boycotted with all the other american companies.

Hi

I have been to Egypt 3 times and have a few Egyptian mates over there - just ask someone out of curiosity why you shouldn't eat it....

They have some weird / uncanny explanations for things I found out when I was there like...

Don't drink Pepsi as it stands for Pay Every Penny to Support Israel

and.....

If you look at the Coca-Cola logo in a mirror, the script in Arabic reads No Mohammed, No Mecca

So that pretty much eliminates caffinated soft drinks - good luck with the cornflakes though.

Enjoy Egypt - it's a great place!

Kellog's is an intenational food processing firm which fears over its reputaion. I eat Kellogs and no problem. You've heard wronge advices. Egypt has good food like any other good country. Don't listen to these "slandering advices".
