Can you tell me some similarities between Islam and Judaism? We are always looking at the bad side lets look at the bright side for a while!!!

This is purely hypothetical and should be considered without concern of modesty or anything like that. I am just curious if you would be able to go to an American wedding reception wearing a takshita. On the one hand you could look really out of place next to ppl in their little black dresses but on the other hand...many takshitas are SO "luxe" and look like something a princess out of history would wear...you could be looking better than the bride.

What would you think if you went to an American wedding reception and saw somebody in a takshita?

BTW, I am not going to a wedding reception or anything, this is NOT about me - the thought just crossed my mind as I saw a few photos recently of some takshitas that could maybe pass for a wedding reception here.

Rabbi probed for circumcised infants' herpes
Baby died from disease after undergoing procedure
City health officials are investigating the death of a baby boy who was one of three infants to contract herpes after a rabbi circumcised them.

Ten days after Rabbi Yitzhok Fischer performed religious circumcisions on twins last October, one died of herpes and the other tested positive for the virus, according to a complaint filed by the health department in Manhattan Supreme Court.

The complaint, reported in Wednesday’s edition of the New York Daily News, also said health officials later found a third baby who had contracted herpes after being circumcised by Fischer in late 2003.

Under Jewish law, a mohel — someone who performs circumcisions — draws blood from the circumcision wound. Most mohels do it by hand with a suction device, but Fischer uses a practice rare outside strict Orthodox groups where he uses his mouth to draw blood after cutting the foreskin.

And you can rewind the time to your preference ...
What would be that length of time and what would you do when you go back.

I would start with going two weeks back and try to make it up for one of my best friends ever and tell him "Let's be friends again".

Ok, I think we have posted so much hateful things for today, so now I am back to my peaceful character. I have a good mood now, so is there an Israel song or poem that talks about peace.

If you don't know an Israeli song or poem, it can be from any other country but I would like to be able to read it so if it translated to English it would be great.

Thanks

It would seem that people should have been "paid" to come and get their TB medicine all these years ago. Then this might not have developed so far.
I shall quote the Mail and Guardian once more:

What is your opinion on this?
Was it inevitable that something like this would happen?

Have, to date, been preserved from being snapped up by overseas property speculants ? We actually have to thank that nototrious Cecil John Rhodes for this.

Quote from the Mail & Guardian:
"Dying at the age of 49, Rhodes left almost his entire fortune to public service.

And as part of that vast bequest, he left the large area of land on the slopes of Table Mountain to the South African nation. Part of this estate became the upper campus of the University of Cape Town, part became the Kirstenbosch gardens, and the rest was left to the people of this glorious land in perpetuity with the proviso that it be protected from development. "

Fantastic, isn´t it?

I think things are getting really nasty here now. What a shame, as at times many of us have managed to have polite and enjoyable discussions. Why don't we try a ceasefire?

Can we reach consensus on the following points:

a) there are some really spiteful people on both sides that use this forum to spread bad feeling. Ivri Anokhi is one, Chris is another, Shishkebab at times but not always does this. Let's all boycott any of their posts and maybe they'll go away.

b) Israel exists. The country is a reality. Muslims, deal with it! Stop going on about how we 'stole' it from you: we didn't. And even if you can't agree with us that we didn't, this endless anger and arguing gets us where? Nowhere.

c) Jews: stop saying there are no such things as Palestinians. I get the historical argument and I know you have good points but fact is, anyone who was born in Palestine is by definition Palestinian. Deal with it!

And let's ALL just ignore the really nasty posts. How about it?

When I was there we were going to go after our carriage ride but everywhere we went on the way people kept telling us it was temporarirly closed so they could empty out the basin. I didn't believe it - I thought they were all joking with us. But we never went to find out because we didn't want to waste the time if it was closed. Do they actually do this?

So, how were there Israelis before the establishment of the Israeli state in 1948?

You say the Palsetinains are Arab immigrants, true but so as the Jews who are immigrants from the west.

You say the Jews lived there a long time ago, yes and so as the Arabs, so this doesn't make 'Israel' their country.

Saying the Palestinians are immigrants, yes but so as the Jews who immigrated from the west.

Saying the UN gave Israel to you, yes but the UN also gave lands to the Palestinians and the Israelis Occupied a parts of them in 1967.

You say the whole Jerusalem is your's, NO, the eastern part is Palestinian and was occupied in 1967 and should be returned.

You want me to recognize Israel and you don't want to recognize me as Palestinian.. how is that called a logic.

How is the word Palestinain created in the 1980's when even the Jews were called the Palestinian Jews before 1948?

Please answer my questions and don't try to escape from them by throwing some insults..

How can you expect us to recognize Israel when you keep telling us that there is no such people called Israelis

My respect to Judaism and to the Jews increase to a degree that I wanted to convert to Judaism, but unfortunately I am getting insults everyday that is making this respect decrease.
Just three days ago, I asked a question "What is wrong with a Muslim marrying a Jew?" and I said that I would love to marry a Jewish man. Then I receieved an aswer from a Jew ...
