Do they wash the decorative additions to djellabas before they sew them on?

As Sarah mentioned in another question, I too have issues with pulling on the decoration when the djellaba is wet so that it doesn't "shrink" in. Do you think they have ever tried to wash them before sewing them on so that this problem doesn't happen?

I told my husband I want a special stretching machine that I could hook up my drying djellabas to...;)

I am going to assume a big NO on that one.

I can picture the stretching machine....I've dreamed of this too lol. Kind of like those shoe stretchers/shapers.
