Did you know that:
-Israel is the only country in the world with a net GAIN in the
number of trees?
- Israel is the global leader in the field of solar energy. 1980- Knesset passed a law requiring solar water heating systems in new private homes. Israel is now first in the world in the use of solar energy per capita (3% of the primary national energy consumption).
-As a country with scarce water resources, Israel has developed various water-saving technologies, among them drip irrigation, patented in 1956. At the Global Water Awards ceremony in Dubai in March 2006, an Israeli desalination plant won the top prize. (whoa, Dubai huh? Does this mean science can one day maybe make peace?).

If you're asked by non Jews to define being Jewish, what is your answer? I've heard and read Jews describe themselves as part of:

a) a religion

b) a nation

c) a people

d) a race

e) an ethnic group

With which do you agree? A combination of these or just one? Please explain your choice, thank you.

Kindly note: anyone who uses this post to bash Israel or Judaism or zionism, will be blocked; I hate having to block anyone but I will if I have to :)

Is the Israel/Palestine conflict the cause of 9/11?
The US continues to support Isreal when many people think we should be neutral. Is this foriegn policy the reason so many Americans are in danger?

I don't know whether it's true or not. If it is true , i want to know how they determine when one is a muslim or a non muslim. Whether the Saudis restrict the visits by non muslims or is it a total ban. Is there anyway for a non-muslim to visit Mecca ( as a genuine tourist ) ?

From www.lonelyplanet.com, I found the expense of meal, housing, transportation.., etc. are quite expensive than Taipei. What is the price for those general expense per month separately. Is there any MRT there or I should rent a car? Your any suggestion is appreciated.

I should not read the news every morning, depression, high blood pressure are logic results for what I read:
CAIRO, Nov 1 (Reuters) - At least 22 illegal migrants have drowned in the Mediterranean in two separate incidents off the Italian coast and the death toll could be more than 140.

CAIRO, Egypt - Egypt's ruling party appointed President Hosni Mubarak's son to an important new committee Saturday in a move seen as further paving the way for the younger Mubarak to succeed his father

Guys, do you like it when the girl makes the first move, or do you think it's too bold? And girls, would you make the first move and let a guy know you like him or would you wait for him to come to you first? I'm talking about a respectable approach with marriage in mind, not just flirting to have fun or pass time.

1) A man is trying to commit suicide. So he junps off and lives, but the police don't arrest him. Why Didn't the police arrest him?

2) You are driving a bus and at the first stop you pick up 5 people at the second stop you pick up 3 people and drop off 2 people. The third stop you pick up 10 people and drop off 1 person. Oh yeah......what color were the bus driver's eyes?

3) If you got it you want to share it; if you share it you haven't got it.

4) A man just commited a horrible crime, and is brought to court. After much thinking, the jury desided to put the man to death, but the way he was to be killed was undetermined. Finally, the tired jury said to the man "you can say one thing. If what you say is true, you will be killed by the chair. If what you say is false, you will be put in jail for life." What could the man say to keep from being killed?

NO CHEATING PLEASE: lol

I was looking at the questions in this section and was wondering what the real difference is between the two? I have seen kaftans that are casual in the stores here in the US but now that I have seen pictures of the dressy ones I cannot tell the difference between them and takshitas.

When do you wear these dressy things? Don't just tell me on big occasions. What are considered big occaisions in Morocco? A baby's birth, a new home party? College Graduation?
Tnx
