or do you like tubes the best ?

Some like riding tubes, but I remember as a kid we had those sleds with runners, and we could steer them.

WHAT DO YOU THINK IS BEST ?

Im in NYC and would like to plan a trip to go skiing with a group of people and don't want to go too far [out of state is fine just not something outrageous]. Please recommend me some places or a good site that has reviews. I'd like to know everything from hospitality to how the actual snow was.

i can ski but im not great at it. i would like to become better though. the thing about skiing is i have a hard time controlling myself, ESPECIALLY when the snow is icy. (my skiis skid and i can't stop/slow down.) also, im scared of going down those huge hills on the intermediate/beginner trails. can someone offer some advice on how to control my skiis (other than using the pizza, that never really works.)? also, please advise on how to improve!

I am specifically looking for safe places to sled that are in Denver and not in the surrounding suburbs. I'd like to make the most of the blizzard we are having.

Where is the best place online to buy a half a kg or more solid ski/snowboard iron-on wax? Either all condition or medium temperature wax would be preferable. By best I mean highest quality for the lowest price.

I need to write a poem about winter. If anyone has any ideas on how to start or maybe a line I could possibly use just to get me started, it would really be helpful. Or a way I could describe winter with imagery. Thanks so much.. any help would be appreciated!!

I'm leaving for Colorado in less than a week, so I don't really have much time to buy snow boots off of the internet. And since I live in Texas, there isn't really a wide variety of boots to choose from. So, I was wondering if regular rubber rain boots would work for walking around and playing in the snow? Would Ugg boots keep my feet dry since the snow won't be all melty like it is down here? Would Scotch Guard work if I sprayed it on Ugg boots? Any ideas??

How come it hurts so much when i fall when i snowboard but it doesn't hurt when i fall over when skiing? I recently went on a skiing holiday and rented a snowboard. I'm not sure if i am just falling incorrectly or something because i have never snowboarded before. I mean when i ski it never hurts really unless i am going really fast and then flip but even then sometimes it doesn't hurt. Snowboarding hurt my hands and bottom when i fell :(
