Hi,
I live in San Jose and wanted to go for some snow falling, tubbing or sliding/Skiing, but I don't want to drive too much or spend a night over. Could somebody tell me what is the best place around San Jose CA which offer these activities and not expensive?

no place. you must be new there. i was born and raised in san jo (i now live in san fran). there's no place you can go to. i know san jo has a ice rink down town thats open but as far as tubbing...no snow for over 200 miles. so you must drive some where. that some where is tahoe of course. you don't have to go that far...you could just go half way and get out and go tubbing yourself but then you'd just be doing it on the side of the road.
