I have a Babolat Pure Power360 (also reads Zylon 360), and when I got it restrung the guy told me that the racket wasn't ment to hold 2 types of strings so its missing the top cross string and they tied one of the cross strings to one of the main strings( I got Pro Hurricane mains and Excel Premium crosses). I got it restrung at Sports Chalet, does that have anything to do with it?

What are some good ways to train for tennis?
I know actually playing tennis, but I don't have access to a court 24/7. I want to be on the school team next year, or at least try out without making a fool of myself. So what are some good ways to train for tennis?

Im 5'6 and im slim built and athletic, but Im 22 years old (is that too old) I use to play as a kid, but never took any serious lessons. I still have no serve really. But over all I think Im about a 4-5 out of 10 ( or a 2.5-3.0 in tennis) I'm really into tennis right now and have been practicing everyday. I'm hoping to finaly get my USTA membership and take some lessons at a college, but I have no serious money for serious lessons and serious equipment (Im useing my Babolat Pure Power 360/ zylon360 right now, not too bad) Tennis is all I got left, and all I care about right now, so I wonder, do I still have a shot???

For a man walking around the park in his sport of expertise, Roger Federer was again denied of the Sportsman of the Year award by the Sports Illustrated (SI) magazine. The award by the way was won by Dwyane Wade of NBA's Miami Heat. For a man who lost only 15 matches over the past three years, do you agree that Roger does not get the honor and recognition he deserves? Is it because he is not American?

I guess it all depends on the surface. Pete woul lose 9 out of 10 times on clay and would lose 7 or 8 out of 10 times on hardcourts. Pete was the king of grass and Roger is now. I would say Federer and pete would tie 5-5 on Grass.

Pete 7-0 in Wimbeldon Finals
Pete 5-3 In U.s Open Finals
Pete 2-1 In Australian Open Finals
Pete never reached the Finals of the French Open

Roger 4-0 in Wimbeldon Finals
Roger 3-0 in U.S open Finals
Roger 2-0 in Australian Open Finals
Roger 0-1 in French Open Finals

We seem to be spending a fortune on world famous coaches at the min - part of the LTA's latest way of spending the Wimbledon millions. You can't argue they're all very good coaches.

But do you think that'll make any difference? Doesn't seem to me like we have much of a structure to bring up good juniors (I used to play a lot of junior tennis comps, and a lot of that was badly organised) and not that many people play/have the facilities to play anyway. Despite all this money our facilities stink, and most people don't see tennis as a big part of our sporting year except at Wimbledon.

So are the celeb coaches going to make much difference? Is the money better spent elsewhere?

I've been playing tennis for roughly four years now on a rather consistent basis. I'm in shape, I work out and it seems like my game hasn't really gone anywhere in the last two years. I find myself repeating the same pattern where I forget how to hit a certain stroke. Sometimes I'll have periods where I can play amazing and then I'll have periods where I can't even hit a ball on the court. Any tips on staying consistent?

I want to try out for the tennis team in spring and get JV ( junior varsity, otherwise known as the C team) at my local Highschool. However seeing that spring is in about 4 months and i dont have very much tennis experience, if i started lessons now would i get good enough to even make the team? Should i even waste the money of getting lessons? Im tall and in shape and i run so im athletic and i know i could do it but is 3/4/5 months enough to practice?
