cardio! the best tennis players at the high school level (i assume thats where your at) are those who can run around the court nonstop. i started playing in high school and i was quick and in shape. this gives you an advantage, and time to work on other skills while you are on the court.
run alot
shuttle run is good for quickness.

Well again, the obvious, join a club and try to play at least 1-2 times a week. Some other things you can do at home-if you have a wall, try to hit volleys against it. It doesn't even have to be hard, just stuff to work your reflexes. Also, do lots of cardio, sprint work/suicide runs. Those are great for tennis with all the start and stop that occurs during points. Other things to do is play shadow tennis in an area in your house. Just working on following through over your shoulder and moving your feet. And finally, another great thing you should buy is a jump rope and work about at least 5-10 minutes a day. Its great for footwork.

Cardio, cardio, and some more cardio. Now the best way to train is get a tennis racket and a ball and start bouncing it. Carry it around and steady the ball on your racket. Keep your eye on the ball at all time. See the ball hitting the strings of the racket. The sweet spot is the goal and most people look away to see their shot. Don't do that until u see it come off your racket then follow the ball in order to set yourself up for your next shot. Enjoy tennis is the greatest sport in the world and i wish everyone played.

Well if you find your self at home bored take a raquet and ball and try to bouce the ball on the raquet in the direct center. This is one of the most important skill for tennis: hand-eye coordination. Besides that the only thing you can do is go to a tennis court because my coach says the best way to get better at tennis is to just play as much as you can

The best way to train for tennis is to run. Do different kinds of runs. Do long runs for endurance and then do some sprints for speed. Make some kind of chart and you can mix in the different runs. You can even practice swinging a good stroke with your tennis racquet. I find that swinging my tennis racquets improves my strokes when I actually play.

You may want to consider signing up for the USTA (United States Tennis Association.) This will expose you to the different ways tennis is played. You may also want to watch tennis matches on t.v. As far as the physical part, try going to the gym to work on cardio. Good Luck!!!!!

look for public courts, you can find people that wants to play. that gives you practice, but it is great if you can have at least 1 day each week a class with a pro!!!!, and try to play matches with people. find out if you have leagues in your area, and join them
