The shoe by itself is about $43 and the "shin guards" are about $29. The only diference I noticed is that for $119, the two don't come separately. Has anybody tried both ways and seen a diference? Also, do I buy in a size that I will or will not need socks? I've used chest waders with socks, but I think water IS going to be inside the reef boots. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

For example, if I'm fishing alone, with no-one else around to ask what's working, so I decide to start with a a white spinner but don't get any results, how long is long enough before trying a Rattle-Trap or rubber worm, instead? I've always just used live bait and done very little lure fishing. but am intersted in trying it, now. I'm fishing for bass but wonder if I have much chance for success without more experience and knowledge of how to **really** use them the best way to attract the fish?

A friend and I went charter fishing in the tropics and agreed to take turns catching fish. A rod gets hit and he tells me to go first, and I catch a small tuna. Later another rod gets hit and he starts reeling it in, then another one and it's handed to me, but after a few reels there is nothing on the line so I set it back down. He keeps reeling his & catches a small tuna.

An hour later something big hits the downrigger pole and he grabs it right away and reels in a trophy baracuda- like an 80lb fish. The captain wants to know if we want to have it mounted and my friend looks at me like I'm supposed to pay the $400 for mounting (I had already paid for his plane ticket and hotel room as a gift cause he's broke plus he still owes me $100 from something else).

I tell him that he caught it so he has to pay for it if he wants it mounted. So he says he doesn't have the cash and the captain cuts it free and it swims away.

Wasn't it my turn and should I be pissed off about it?

The rod is 2 piece 10 ft 6 in Magnamite IM8 Alaskan lines 7-8-9 made by Bob Church. I would like to know how old it could be i.e. when was the rod avaliable comercially and at what price ? Also crucially has anyone used one of these rods and is it any good? Also as I will be primarily fishing Rutland Water would the rod be suitable for deep water trolling? Thanks
