How many lures, bait on average do you tend to lose on debris (logs)?
I just started freshwater fishing on Lake Talquin (Tallahassee/Quincy border) and have lost a lot of lures that claim to be weedless...

The Texas rig works well, but I still haven't landed a bite yet, I know that cold fronts have really been a factor recently though.

Any suggestions on techniques that work well with Fall season freshwater dock fishing? Guy I met was catching perch on bobbers and minnows, but I would prefer using a technique without a bobber...

Thanks

I recently tried fishing while on holiday with a new telescopic rod I bought. I found trying to cast out impossible, even with a weight on the end of the line. The line would get caught, or just tangle up. It looked so easy when others do it. Is there a knack?or do I have a crap reel. In the end I had to just lower the line down into the water over where I was sitting.

It's just 6- or 10-pound test on a light freshwater pole and I used to know how to make one, but don't remember anymore, or even what type it was. But I'm not looking necessarily for that specific knot - just something strong enough for maybe a nice-sized bass, (if I'm really lucky!) but not too complicated to make. Also, I'll probably just put on a small swivel and replace the hooks there, when necessary, rather than having to tie a new one (hook) directly on the line every time, if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance, for the help. : )

Do they have women followers, you know, like groupers? Are they only interested in a piece of bass? It seems like they get away with a lot and are let off the hook. But, then buoys will be buoys.

Does anyone else agree with me that I should have the right to take what ever game - fish, upland, or large - during any time of the year while on MY property. By no means am I saying I currently do so, but it irritates me that the government dictates what I can do on MY PRIVATE PROPERTY. I am not referring to others on my land, but the land owner taking nutrition from his/her own land. Under current intrepretation of current laws - I'm entitled to the growth on the land - fruit, vegetables, lumber, etc - why not the game/fish? Don't get me wrong - I am in favor of, and DO support my local GC and DNR. I purchase hunting and fishing license every year- even in years when they go unused. I purchase the appropriate tags/stamps each year for all the types of fishing and hunting I enjoy, regardless of when/if used that year. This not about money. Only my rights as a land owner. Please let me know why you agree/disagree with my thinking. Thanks
