we have guests on tues & wed. will it last until then steamed in the fridge or should we keep it alive ?

Go ahead and cook them and store the cooked crabs in the refrigerator. They will still be good when your guests arrive. Just make sure that you store them in a way that they will stay cold and dry....don't let liquid accumulate in the container that you keep them in as you don't want them soaking in liquid. Some water will seep out of them while stored in the fridge, so just check on them periodically and drain it off. I have kept steamed crabs in the refrigerator for several days and they remain good to eat.

Hard to say as you didn't say if you are keeping it alive, refridgerated or frozen.

Fresh- I would do it right away (it just tastes best)

Refer- maybe 3 day most- it just gets slimmey and gross

Freeze- 6 months max- otherwise it is like eating rubber

I love that it is crap season here....hmmmmmmmm crab.

If you keep them on ice in the refrigerator the max is about 24 hours. DONT eat dead crabs.

As long as you have an air pump, or keeping the water
circulating it can last a couple of days.
Once it's cooked not long, eat it or put it in the refrigerator.
It won't last long after that.
