Did you buy nuts or dried fruit or get any as a gift from the developing or third world? Those are larvae. I had the same experience a few years ago and finally found the source to be a bag of nuts.

Those should not be there. Look for the source. Where there are worms, something is rotting. Get to the bottom of it.

White worms, particularly short white worms, may be maggots...fly larvae. Something is rotting or dead.
