I just wanted to know if there was any real danger in keeping my shotgun loaded. Of course there's not a shell in the chamber, but I've got 5 shells in there in case I need it. There any reason not to keep it loaded? I keep it on safety, and in a unlocked guncase under my bed for quick access. I have nobody else living with me, only myself.

I don't know if this is common practice or not, but like I've stated before I live in a very bad part of town, and break ins are common. I want to be able to get to my shotgun in case I need it as quick as possible.

Thanks for any advice.

I am very opinionated when it comes to this, I have family members who hunt and I really cannot stand it. Like the whole we need to keep the population down thing, if they that's true let them die peacfully and in their own natural born home. It's better than us blowing their heads of and then having the nerve to call that a sport. discusting! And then we gut them ourselves and take them to a butcher shop to be sliced into peices. I don't know about you but i can't sleep at night knowing that helpless animals are being harmed for human entertainment. It's just cruel and not right. It is just inhumane for us to do that stuff! However,I have no problem eating meat. But, let the poeple who's job it is to kill them for us. We oursleves don't have to make them suffer.

that's my opinion what's yours?

please put ur point across within tha yahoo answers community guidelines, stay respectful and we can hear all sides and views to this

my view is that i dnt need to go out hunting, i live in a society where food is mass produced or at least produced by companys and business's, so i dont need to go out and hunt animals for food.

tha self defence thing, eg:if your being attacked by a wild animal, then you should protect yourself thru any means.

but wot i dnt understand is tha whole 'fun' thing....i mean, some people find it fun to fight, but their called hooligans and criminals, we class them as being wrong.

my last thing i want to say is that some of tha people for animal huntin suggest that we 'need' to keep tha numbers down and theirfor healthy packs....since when has it been our responsibilty to interfere with mother nature...we shud take a step back from our 'virus-like' activitys and let mother nature do her thing in my view.

I am look to buy a handgun for a collector and need some help. The person has over 100 rifles so I think going with a handgun is best since its more likely he will not have it. I want to spend under 900.00 USD and need to be able to get it today so nothing to hard to find. I have asked at the gun shop he goes to but still wanted advice from others.
