WHY IS IT THAT WHEN I READ QUESTIONS ON HERE I AM SHOCKED BY THE IGNORANCE SOME PEOPLE HAVE. FOXHUNTING IS NOT A BARBARIC 'SPORT', IT IS A MEANS TO AN END. IT IS A FACT THAT FOXES HAVE TO BE CULLED, AND IT IS FACT THAT THE MOST HUMANE WAY TO DO SO IS BY HUNTING WITH HOUNDS. SHOOTING THE FOX WILL ONLY INJURE THE ANIMAL AND LEAVE IT TO BLEED FOR WEEKS ON END FINALLY TO DIE OF INFECTION OR BLOOD LOSS. WHEN A HOUND GETS THAT FOX IT IS DEAD INSTANTANIOUSLY. THE REASON THIS BAN HAS BEEN PUT INTO EFFECT IS BECAUSE OF THE PREJUDICE PEOPLE HAVE FOR WHO IS DOING IT. I DONT MIND PEOPLE NOT AGREEING WITH THE 'SPORT' AS LONG AS IT IS FOR THE RIGHT REASONS. PLEASE READ UP ON IT FIRST BEFORE MAKING RASH BELIEFS. AM I WRONG?

Can anyone tell me (or direct me to a good website that will tell me) the differences between a 9mm, a .45, and a .38? I'm talking weight, expense, ease of firing, amount of kick, etc. Anything you can tell me would be much appreciated. Advice and reccomendations are welcome.

I'm thinking about getting one to shoot around with. I've been around guns all my life, so I know about safety and everything... I'm a 19 yr old female, btw.

Mt. Rainier is aroound Seattle, WA. For those who are familar with it, the trail will be Camp Muir trail, about 10mile round trip, starting at 5000 ft, with the highest point around 10000ft. There is going to have some snow in the second half of the trail. Will regular day-hike boots do? I'll have a pair of trekking poles with me too.
