Alright I considered myself pretty good at this. I could do 14x11x9 chinups. My problem is I can't do them from a dead hang. From a dead hang I get a big fat zero. Can someone please help me? Thanks.

Who do you think is the greatest sportman ever. Doesn't matter which sport. The person that has achieved the most and taken the their sport to another level. I'm thinking of Sampras, Schumacher, Jack Nicklaus, Steve Redgrave, Michael Johnson, Michael Jordan. These are just to get things going. I am sure there are more. When putting a name forward try and give a short reason why.

If anyone's ever noticed, when skateboarders appear on TV or on commercials, they are always wearing full pads, but anyone who skates would know that this doesn't really happen in reality. Does anyone know why this occurs?

A few years ago a track coach gave me workouts I had never done before, they were extremely grueling and ultimately changed my musculature in some major way. The coach had me running intervals between 400m-1200m 3 to 4 miles worth at about 80% effort with only 100 meter jog rest (i.e. approximately 45 seconds). 48 hours later I would do more speed stuff; intervals between 100m-400m with low rest (i.e. common workout 8x200m, 80-85% effort 30 seconds rest per 200 [3 minutes rest] another set of 8x200m) and thats it for the week (sounds simple enough?).
Now these workouts basically kill your legs even jogging becomes tough. And in about 5-6 weeks my legs just felt like led and I was only able to run 2:20 on an all out 800m (painful); My best was 1:50! (not painful) Now some can say my legs were just tired but its more than that (times did not change with rest). It seems I was trained to only use a specific muscle group neglecting others. After 8 months I left my coach and im still slow??

You probably won't be able to answer this. But oh well.....
I've done Irish Dance for about four years and am still not very good. This year i thought maybe i'd quit and try a new sport, but the only other sport i can do is running. so i signed up for cross country. now i can't choose which one to do. The only things i like about cross country are that i might make some friends and i will get in shape. the things i like about dance are it's not as hard, i rarely get metals (in xc i'd get none) and.....i just dont know what to do. opinions?
