Orr redefined the position of defenceman, opening up the game to later talents such as Denis Potvin and Paul Coffey. His skill and grace on the ice were phenomenal to watch and he could control the tempo of the game like no other player.

Gretzky, on the other hand, had an undefinable quality that made him almost impossible to defend against. He made everyone on his team a better player by both his skillful use of them in offensive situations and by his dedication and hard work that inspired the same in teammates.

My wife's father died a long time ago and her family lore says he played for the Chicago Blackhawks for 1/2 a season before quitting to get a better paying job (kids were on the way). How do I verify this? He has an etched drawing of him in a Blackhawks uniform on the back of his tombstone but I have never seen the actual picture.

The departure of Bertuzzi left a big hole in our first line. I wondered what the Canucks are planning to do to fix this. Is Yan Bulis going to play there? Are we going to make another trade? Maybe play the Sedins with Naslund??

Also, with the (apparent) departure of Anson Carter, who are we going to use with the Sedins? Matt Cooke maybe? Reid? King> Maybe Bulis? please report any rumours you may have heard about any deals the canucks are going to swing to improve our situation on offense.
