All of those "The Next ....(Gretzky, Jordan, etc) are tired and lazy. Why can't we just apprciate players for who they are. All the stupid comparisons do is create unrealistic expectations. There should be a fine on announcers who make them.

The thing that makes me get tired of it the most is the fact that these players are playing at different times. Look at the highlights of Gretzky and the poor defense and goaltending he faced for most his career. I am NOT taking anything away from Gretzky im just saying it is very tough to compare players now

thats true, i hate that too, but i guess its just done to promote the league into new markets like paarts of the USA..since hockey isnt as popular there
