I'm not going for the 10pts but I will say that I think of hockey every day of my life. The lockout was the longest, crappiest year ever. Winter was unbearable.
I follow every signing, read any gossip I can find and check out dearnhl.com. The site started for the lockout, but it continues and the people are great.
I almost fainted today when I heard about Hasek. Just when you think you've seen it all---wow, I don't know what the Wings are thinking. Who knows it may turn out great, but I know Ottawa thought the same thing last year....
Hockey? One of my favorite things on earth. Poetry on ice.

I probably won't get the 10 points but I still want to profess my true, deep love for hockey. I started watching by accident when I was 16, now 10 years later, I still get depressed after the Cup is awarded until the day the season starts. The lockout year was the longest of my life and it was difficult to see any hockey where I lived since I was living in the middle of nowhere Eastern Washington state. I was stoked when the Penguins got Crosby last year; it was the happiest day of my life last year. I love hockey. I have books on the history of hockey and try to read any books that I can whenever I see one at the bookstore or at the library. One of the most wonderful books I've ever read was called " A Breed Apart" about NHL goalies. It is this big, coffee book filled with glorious pictures of hockey. I cry when I see the Stanley Cup. It is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life and I fell in love with it when I first saw it on TV. I've never been to an NHL game but I have supported the local WHL team as well as the club hockey team for the University of Oregon. I dream hockey. I've written a poem about hockey. Hockey is the greatest sport ever!

Yes I'm excited that hockey season is about to start it's so neat to see the guys on those blades gliding back and forth and hearing the sskskss when they come to a stop it's almost like hearing the tennishoes in a basket ball game. Those big heavy uniforms and those long sticks that they play with batting the puck back and forth across the scarred and sratced up ice. watching the clock tick and on the occaision getting hit, trying to keep warm and comfortable with a blanket on the hard wooden bleachers as a miniscule piece of ice comes flying through the air off the skates of a player and hits you on the cheek. Hearing the crowd roar. YeSSSS I'm excited.

Hello out there
You're on the air
It's hockey night tonight
Tension grows
And the whistle blows
And the puck goes down the ice
Players bump
And the goalie jumps
And the fans all go insane
Someone roars
Bobby Scores!!
At the good 'ol hockey game
OH
The good 'ol hockey game
It's the best game you can name
And the best game you can name
Is the good 'ol hockey game
Stompin' Tom sums it all up.....

I am not excited because the Islanders, while i think they picked up a great new coach in Nolan, have done very litle to improve their blue line..Mike Milbury foolishly let Aucoin go in place of Niinima and then sent away Peca instead of yashin..no defense left, that is why Dipietro didnt improve last year, he was seeing better shots than the year before..wel 2 years before b/c of teh strike......while I love hockey, and still make it out to games even though I live in NM now..have t travel to see the coyotes, or the stars..might tryto get to Colorado this year..when I know my team is going to suck..and probably wind up behind the Rangers in teh standings it is very hard to go into the season..was glad to see the Peguins stay in Pitt and get new ownership..wishthe cup was in Hartford instead of Carolina

OMG, hockey!!!!!!! I cannot wait. I have been counting down the days since it ended! 64 days left until October 4. Ten days before my birthday. I hope we can go to a Preds. game for my golden birthday (this October). I live in Memphis, and I hate it. NO HOCKEY. It stinks. I play on two teams. A guys here and a girls' in Nashville. I am 13, a goalie, and a girl. Here hockey is unknown. Nobody knows anything about it. But I love it. We are going to a preseason Preds. game Sept. 21! The Preds are not my favorite, but at least they are in the state.
I so cannot wait for it to start!!!!!!!!

I am really excited to watch Jarret Stoll and Colby Armstrong play their tails off on the Direct TV. Just kidding. I love the Rangers. I love my seats and my section. I have had season tickets since 1988. I have always liked Shanahan except when he was a Devil. I am psyched to watch him on a regular basis. He is the first true power forward we have had in a long time. I love Baseball , but the Met season does not start for me until the NHL season is over. Going out to eat and Manhattan then hitting MSG is a great way to spend your evening.

I am so excited that hockey season is starting back soon, I can't hardly stand it. I am new to the sport of hockey, but really enjoy it now, thanks to my niece. She kept telling me that it was a great sport and I should go see a game, I would really get hooked. Well, she was right, I am hooked and I am hooked on the Carolina Hurricanes!!
