I have had my kids in hockey long enough to know that the parents and coaches are at fault when things like this happen, and this stuff should not be tolerated, especially in a team where kids are just 8 years old.

I know we pulled our son out of it this year just because of idiotic coaches who take their roles MUCH TOO SERIOUSLY.

This should be about the kids, not about grown men asserting themselves making up for something they missed out on in life.

During the off season, coaches and trainers are constantly reminding the players to continue with a healthy lifestyle. If you were a professional hockey coach, discuss what you would specifically do to help your players maintain an active physical routine, healthy eating habits, and positive personal choices.
Thanks for answering

Look at all this orange! My eyes are burning!!!

LOL

Seriously, what is up with all the badges, is this national give out badges day? lol. Congrats to all who got one, especially PuckDat! Does anyone know who got the badges? I know of PuckDat, Haley D, TBL, and Cyrenaica, but is there anyone else?

Also, Flames Fan has lost his badge. As did the old suspended account of Chris The Leafs Fan, it's funny how the account had no name, but still had a badge, well the badge is finally gone.

This brings the grand total of Hockey top contributors to, I'm guessing; 24? Anyone know?

Who will be the first person to call for a lifetime ban of the Flyers Scott Hartnell for checking a player who dropped to his knees to stop a puck. Coincidentally, it happened to be against the Bruins.

I will state my point of view now, I have seen it at full-speed and slo-mo. The major+game misconduct was warranted but I see no reason for a suspension unless Hartnell has an incident already on his record for this.

As always, you can take this in whatever direction you'd like to.

Anyway, the biggest surprise for me has been... PuckDat getting a badge! OMG, finally!
CONGRATS!!!!

(Yeah, I just noticed.)

...So who else wouldn't be surprised if he got a notice tomorrow morning reading that his account's been suspended? LOL.

Well breaking news in Tampa:
http://blogs.tampabay.com/breakingnews/2007/11/tampa-bay-light.html
"The Tampa Bay Lightning has terminated a deal to sell the hockey team to business partners Oren Koules, Jeff Sherrin and Doug MacLean.

The team canceled the agreement November 14 when Koules, a Hollywood producer, failed to come up with his $4.16-million share of the purchase price, according to a lawsuit filed Monday.

Lightning officials said negotiations are continuing to try to salvage the sale."

Wow. Looks like Koules (producer of the Saw movies) didn't pay up. Think managment will still look to sell the team.

It has been reported that the Montreal Canadians have been fined for their ceremony of number 19, Larry Robinson. The ceremony in itself was 44 minutes long and pushed the start of the game past it's scheduled time.
http://msn.foxsports.com/nhl/story/7487180

Which brings me to the question. Should the NHL require number-retirement ceremonies to be conducted after the game?

The Lightning, need to win. I don't think they can do it alone. The Tampa Bay Lightning WILL win on Wednesday. They WILL beat the Blackhawks (sorry LITY). That is a guarantee. Right?

TB, I just wanted to address at work I have to send/respond to about 60 e-mails a day, that why I don't have my e-mail on my profile. I never even respond to my family's e-mails, because for me, e-mail is my enemy. Sorry I missed this question. I am not sure about the song. Usually, when the Lightning get scored on, I am swearing too loud to hear anything. Next time, I'll listen.

Here's the real question:

Seems Boyle is going to be gone for a while. What can the Lightning do about their Defensemen problem?

Personally, I think JFJ has screwed this team, and given Maurice a bunch of ego centric guys who think they know everything, and think they are a One Man Team. If you've seen the screaming Maurice has done, and the anger in his watery eyes after each post game interview, its not due to a lack of effort, the team is simply not listening. Therefore, I would vote to can JFJ, Semi-blow up the team, get an assortment of youth and draft picks at the deadline, and carefully pick up free agents to suit the needs of the team and the coaching of Maurice while those draft picks develop. I vote for the trading of Sundin, Antropov, Ponikarovski, McCabe, Kubina, and Raycroft. You'd get good returns on Sundin and McCabe, and some on Antropov and Poni, while Kubina you just want to rid the cap space, even waive him if you have to, and same with Raycroft, as Clemmenson can step in until Pogge has developed.

What do you guys think?

Dear O' cold Hockey God, please let this be true and come to fruition. Also, please strike down all who oppose you, like the Ontario Teachers Pension and Richard Peddie. May Santa Claus deliver them down to NASCAR.

Tortorella down in Tampa seems to be the most recent person to have met the wrath of Colin Campbell and the NHL for criticizing the officiating in a game against Atlanta last week. His comments are rumored to have cost him $10,000. I've seen some bad calls in my years of watching hockey, and it seems like saying something at a press conference is probably the most effective, albeit costly way to catch the league's attention. If I were a coach, I'd have a tough time biting my tongue with some of the poor calls that are made, especially if it cost me the game.
