Personally, I think JFJ has screwed this team, and given Maurice a bunch of ego centric guys who think they know everything, and think they are a One Man Team. If you've seen the screaming Maurice has done, and the anger in his watery eyes after each post game interview, its not due to a lack of effort, the team is simply not listening. Therefore, I would vote to can JFJ, Semi-blow up the team, get an assortment of youth and draft picks at the deadline, and carefully pick up free agents to suit the needs of the team and the coaching of Maurice while those draft picks develop. I vote for the trading of Sundin, Antropov, Ponikarovski, McCabe, Kubina, and Raycroft. You'd get good returns on Sundin and McCabe, and some on Antropov and Poni, while Kubina you just want to rid the cap space, even waive him if you have to, and same with Raycroft, as Clemmenson can step in until Pogge has developed.

What do you guys think?

Seems to me there's issues stemming from the top downward...MLSE seems to have certain issues with the way any Leafs GM (previous/current/future) runs the team, & it shows. This is why Scotty Bowman won't take over as the Leafs GM - way too much politics.

As for the current debacle; meh - was expected IMO...The latest mistake MLSE made was running coach/GM Pat Quinn outta T.O. whom IMHO was the best thing going for them.

As for a series of trades; don't expect much...The Leafs went on a binge, & overpaid many players (Antro $2 mill for 2 years WTF?...McCabe, Kubina, Blake, & 2 '#1 netminders' - WTF?)...This will be the thorn in the side for any Leafs GM wanting to clean house concerning the players - salary cap is gonna really mess things up in Leaf land.

I really feel for coach Maurice; good guy getting blamed for indifferent/dumb play by the team as a whole...Oh well thank God my #1 team is Detroit ;-)

I can't see the Leafs doing LITY any favours and getting rid of Peddie, but I can see them adjusting his role. He was hired to make money for the owners and he does that very well. They need to eliminate his involvement from hockey operations as he has no hockey knowledge.
As far as who needs to go, JFJ or Maurice, i dunno, but the way it stands, Maurice is coaching a swim team while JFJ is assembling a diving team. These two are not reading the same book let alone being on the same page. So JFJ for sure, and the book is still open on the coach.

I think one of them will be gone, regardless, because it has reached a boiling point. It seems even worse than the time during Quinn's departure. It should be OTP and Peddie going, but we all know that's not going to happen. Ferguson should go because he has no clue what he's doing, and none of the players seems to like Maurice (but at least he knows what he's doing).

Maurice is a good coach. JFJ is the worst GM in the league. They should fire him and bring back Quinn as GM, he was at least decent and knows the team.

I want Peddie gone. Once we see who replaces Peddie, we can speculate on what comes next!

From a westerner's perspective, keep 'em both. We love to watch the Leafs get their asses kicked week in and week out.
