The arena's website says that we need to get there an hour in advance (this is an NHL game). Is this necessary? I think 30 minutes should be enough.

hockey is a great sport. its fast, exciting hard hits and just about all the action you could ask for. i mean i enjoy a baseball and football game every now and then but i mean hockey is so much more exciting and fun then baseball could ever be and it's 100 times better then basketball i know its not an american sport and thats probly part of the reason people dont like it much but i think people should give it a chance and if you dont like it at least appreciate what the players do they're some of the best athletes in the world so i suggest you go check out a game and quit hating on hockey

It's gotta be Canada vs USSR, which, traditionally, are the two best hockey-playing countries. The number of gold medals each of these two nations has won speaks for itself. However, since the fall of Communism has hurt Russian hockey, I'd say the two best countries are now Canada and the Czech Republic.

Nowadays, the biggest rivalry might be even be between Sweden and Finland.

For me it would have to be the infamous brawl at the 1987 World Junior match between Canada and the USSR in Prague. Both teams were disqualified, of course. Another great one weas the 1984 Friday Night Massacre between the Habs and Quebec City. Best one-on-one fight I ever saw was Jim Kite of Winnipeg and Gord Kluzak of Boston go at it in 1983.

let me tell you what i think.--i think they dont have to enlarge the net.I think they should reduce the size of the goaltenders pads and gloves and that will accomplish the same thing.I think they need to look back say 30 years ago at the old goaltenders equip--and see how many more square inces the new ones have.--Then look at the scores back then to see if there was indeed more goals scored or gaa.--theres likely a correlation.--so if thats the case all they need to do is regulate the size of the equipment to one standard size thats smaller than what they have now.--what do you think?

Is there any truth to the story that figure skater Elvis Stoyko, using martial arts, beat the crap outta NHLer Eric Lindros about 10 years ago? The scrap allegedly took place in Ontario's "cottage country" and followed a wild, rowdy party at Lindros' place.
