How can you get on a team that participates in the Pond world hockey championship?

It's an open tournament. It's up to the participants to find a team to join, or put one together. Given that it's 4 on 4 it's not that big a deal to put together a team. This year is already booked up solid, so I guess you could start planning for the 2008 tournament. I guess it's possible that a team could have a player drop out for some reason at the last moment (too much rye?) and ask someone to join their team on the spot. I suggest you book accommodations in Plaster Rock well in advance if you are going. The "regulars" tend to keep the same rooms booked year after year that weekend. I imagine suitable rental vehicles at Fredricton airport get booked up solid as well.
