Is there any truth to the story that figure skater Elvis Stoyko, using martial arts, beat the crap outta NHLer Eric Lindros about 10 years ago? The scrap allegedly took place in Ontario's "cottage country" and followed a wild, rowdy party at Lindros' place.

Lindros and Stoyko are friends. Stoyko used to show up occasionally at Lindros' practices. They laugh about the rumor. It is not true. It is however one juicy rumor. Truth is stranger than fiction. This story makes the top of the list of barroom tall tales.

It is,mostly true. There was no fight between Elvis and Eric however....Elvis dropped him in one shot. Cheers went up in the restaurant(in Port Carling,On,now closed).Lindros and his buddies had been making snide,childish,and loud comments about the 'fa**y" skaters a couple tables over. Elvis went over and quetly asked the to simmer down cuz there were lots of kids around. Eric stood up,pushing Elvis,and making his bully stance. That's when Stojko dropped him....one hit. The fighting.public drukeness charge happened ,I think,a night or 2 later.The restaurant has been closed for about 7 years now,but this TRUE tale lives on.

several years ago Lindros, Stoyko and other friends where out at a bar, and later on that night there was a fight that broke out cause of Lindros was fooling around with some girl and she didn't like it but Stoyko was already gone from the bar and Lindros got arrested that night for fighting in the bar. can't remember the bar's name but it was somewhere in Ontario.

it did, indeed, happen... many years ago... i have a journalist friend who is privy to the details... i can't recall exactly what happened but I will get back to you when I clarify it...
it was in a small bar in cottage country and I am not sure about the level of "crap kicking" he took...
i will give you the details soon... but, to answer your question, it definitely happened!
