I tend to overswing most of the time esp since I started using rescue clubs. However, I can hit the balls fairly straight but lack distance. Does the overswing cause me to lack distance? I can't seem to correct my overswing, how can I best live with it and still improve my game?

About the furthest distance I can hit with my driver is 130 meters. I only weigh 50 kgs., so can't expect to hit as far as the men, but I would like more distance. On my iron shots too. Have only been playing for 18 months, and had several lessons from pro's, but nothing seems to go right when I am on the course. My shots are usually straight - so with distance I can improve my handicap.

I believe it is better to practice with my irons on real grass but ranges with real grass seem to be far and few between (at least where I live). However, does it actually hurt your iron game to practice on mats? Is it worth that extra half hour drive to wait in line and practice on real grass?
