FIFA World Cup (TM) - June 2006

[Selected]: All categories Sports Football FIFA World Cup (TM)

It is too long to wait for World Cup every 4 years. One thing is that it would be good for the economy for the host country and world television advertisment. Also, the good players have a chance to show in 2 years instead of 4 years, and their present at World Cup would be double. The fans would love that.

They fall down and cry anytime someone grazes them! They aren't soccer players they are actors! And the Italian League fired the Korean guy who scored against them in the 2002 World cup! I am American with Italian Heritage (Accamando Lineage) And usually I'm proud of that.... But watching their character here at the world cup. I'm angry and ashamed of it....

He turned into a Steve Sampson and believed his coaching (formation) was more important than the players on the field.

It has come to peoples notice that all three goals were off side goals? Was this game a fair game or was there the fear that Ghana will over take Brazil and that led to the problems?

My Predictions are,

Germany Vs Argentina - Germany - because of the Goal Keeping
Italy Vs Ukraine - Italy.
Eng Vs Por - Eng - I like Beckam.
Brazil Vs France - Brazil.

Give me yours and we will see who wins this Finals. Then we will go onto the Semi Final predictions.

Curious about how people think the matches will go, particularly the oddsmakers out there. Also, I'm curious which matches are most likely to go into overtime/penalty kicks.

Friday, June 30:
Germany vs. Argentina
Italy vs. Ukraine

Saturday, July 1:
England vs. Portugal
Brazil vs. France

(BTW, no, I don't have big money riding on it: just $10 in an office pool.)

Poll - Which country is most likely to riot when their team loses the final round in the World Cup?

I want predictions who will get to the finals, and a guess at the magnitude of the riot.

I think there needs to be a magnitude scale - like earthquakes. a 7 would include turning over cars, tear gas, and swat teams. You get the idea.

They havn't played good at all! That game against Ecuador was a pure luck goal from Beckham. And If they have been playing good then they should have won Trinidad & Tobago 6 to 0!!!!!
They have no chance on winning. They are good players and a good team but they have just been playing weak teams.

Chances on winning the cup. England 39%, Brazil 51%, Germany 48%, Argentina 55%, Portugal 32%, Italy 46%, Im not naming the rest.

all right i just heard that Fifa and this company called Unicef are doing this thing using football (soccer) to promote peace and teamwork with kids and they are using David Beckam as their poster boy. And frankly I was very mad because i think that if you are going to use a role model... use someone that had hardship in there childhood... not some rich guy from england that pays more attention to his hair than his game. What do you think? and who should be the poster man?
