In my opinion he made a mistake on Brazil's second goal among other things.

You see, brazil sucks, and is getting helped by the referees and fifa again.

This is for you N.10. First you guys say we have so many players, everyone wants even our players in the bench, blah, blah, blah. Now is we have players with injuries and making excuses. And you are right this is getting old for everyone watching Brazil getting all the help. It's been going on for too long.

Yes, I see now that brazil was helped. What makes it worse is that after the goals brazil started to showboat. This to me is foolish and arrogant on brazil's part. They should show more respect. Ghana was cheated because ref's put the game out of reach with a clear offside goal.

Brazilians were helped !!! They are not what you think they are.

Man this is getting old... the second goal was offside, no doubt, but like they said before it wouldn't change anything.

Now about the referee, I want to point out something that will show how much of crybabies some are in this case, the list of injured brazilian players after the game:

Small injuries (players that have to make some recovering program):
Lucio
Roberto Carlos

Injuries (players that wouldn't be able to play if the game against France was today):
Kaká
Emerson

So do you all think Ghana is not a violent team? Did you all expected the referee to allow a butcher just so Ghana could have a chance? If the fault was strong, the referee MUST show a card to prevent people from getting hurt, Ghana just overdid it.

Yeah, that second goal was a lousy call, but I don't think the outcome would have changed in Ghana's favor.
There was an article the other day on the AP wire, about the US losses. The author made some good points about referee calls in soccer, and the refusal by soccer officials to use instant replay, like in other sports, to review calls. According to the author, that would open the door for challenges to such controversial calls as the infamous "hand of God" Maradonna goal in the 86 World Cup.

No worse than the ref that gave the game to Italy after calling the dive that resulted in a penalty kick against the Aussies. This cup has changed my view on soccer, a game I have played my whole life, but which I now agree is played at the league level by alot of diving wimps and refed by blind men.

Well, that could probably be said about any ref in this cup. even still, brazil would have beat ghana. and they did. but the ref in the USA-GHA made a big mistake too, but nothing can be changed.
