Is it just me or does Italy's Soccer team piss you off? They don't deserve their wins! Let me hear you!

Question

They fall down and cry anytime someone grazes them! They aren't soccer players they are actors! And the Italian League fired the Korean guy who scored against them in the 2002 World cup! I am American with Italian Heritage (Accamando Lineage) And usually I'm proud of that.... But watching their character here at the world cup. I'm angry and ashamed of it....

lol anyone who calls themselves stiff biscuit does not get to tell me to shut up!!! lol though I welcome the difference of opinion. And I do not agree that all teams fall down and cry. It does seem to be a winning strategy though, henceforth you don't see the Americans or the Austrailians doing it and they are both out. Other teams do it, like England's Owen (Uncle Owen as we call him because he always cries uncle) and Paraguay sem to have a few that do it. But the teams i like and pull for are 100% hustle not play acting it is just a sissy way to win.

Oh I understand why they do it, and I agree it is a tactic widely used, and I agree that it is a winning tactic. I JUST HATE IT AND THINK ITS DISGRACEFUL THAT IT'S USED SO MUCH AND SO OBVIOUSLY!!!!

SUCH DRAMA!!!!! WHINING BABIES!!! They even complain when they are at fault!! Was in Italy last summer and my aunty told me about how Italians exagurate on trivail things.Of course I did not believe her and even defended the Italians but watching all their matches just makes me want to throw up!!

They lack technical skills on the pitch with makes football beautiful to watch ant yet they complian till you want to reach into the TV and give them some strokes on their backs.......for delaying the game and destroying its exictement!!

I totally agree with you,their behaviour is sooo shamefull. A BUCH OF DRAMA KINGS or is it BOYS?? Better still crying babies.Maybe they miss thier wifes or better still their MUMs!!

Amen to the two previous answers.

Yeah, maybe Italy used to have better players/teams in the past, but they aren't that bad in this world cup. Apart from the game against the USA, which was bad, they have done fairly well so far. They defeated both Ghana (which wasn't an easy team at all) and the Czech Republic 2 to 0 -- with no penalties, by the way.

In the game against Australia, they dominated in the first half. They didn't score, but even Brazil didn't score immediately when they played Australia. The second half of the game was different. They were down one man, and that yellow card should have been a yellow one. Even so, they didn't let Australia score.

Nobody knows how that game would have ended if they had played the extra time. Australia wasn't going to win for sure. The Italian players called for a penalty, but ultimately it was up to the referee to concede it or not. So, just blame the referee, but don't bash Italy. Those of you who say they paid the referee and stuff like that, you don't even know what you are talking about. Thanks to that referee, Italy is going to play Ukraine with just one good defender on Friday -- Cannavaro, because Nesta is injured and Materazzi can't play because of that red card.

As for being actors, most soccer players are. They dive, they complain, they cry, they lose their tempers -- that's the way they get the fouls. Not only Italy. Did you watch Portugal vs Holland, just to mention one game? The referee was a dumbass, but the players (on both sides) were really entertaining...

I am Italian and not ashamed. I'm just not happy about the way we won over Australia because of all the crap that people and the media are talking about the Italian team and even Italy as a nation right now. You always want to win without controversy, don't you?

As for the Korean player -- it wasn't fair to fire him, but the way South Korea eliminated Italy in that World Cup, that really was fishy... especially after they eliminated Spain the same way... but you know, that was Korea 2002.

I get irritated by their sloppy play always in a tourney since WC 02.
They didn't deserve to win Australia but also didn't deserve to lose. Many players are diving, and would have dived in that situation. The australian player made the italian player can't dribble past him by obstructing so Grosso made use of the situation. An australian player dived earlier in that match. Adriano was booked for diving and a ghana player also dived in the brazil match. Many dives. Grosso made use of the situation of the silly tackle and they got lucky the referee gave the penalty. The red card on the italy player was harsh too. But the dive was so bad cos it's the winning goal. Actually many other players are diving.
Italy is not getting much favors in this tournament. Only that penalty. They had a harsh red card too. They are not that bad in this world cup in terms of favors. WC 02 they had lots of bad calls against them too, more than the favors they get now. USA red cards are one is deserved, another is harsh. It's just referee's decision. Not italy's cheat in that match.

I am also of Italian origins and I just wanna say that until now, the Italians have been very lucky in their games! I saw the video and that is overly exaggerated... I think and I KNOW that most players of any team will fake one time or another... It's not JUST THE ITALIANS !!! They aren't cheaters and I disagree with anyone that will say that, like I said they have been real lucky...
It's the style of game they decide to play... they aren't very physical, they're a bit slow, they wait for the ball to come to them, long passes, they wanna take their time and also WASTE time!!! Until now they haven't impressed me and I obviously am not the only one to think so! I know that often enough they fall , cry that I'm not too sure about, besides let's not generalize.. a lot of players do.... take Cristiano Ronaldo for instance... I would pinch his butt and he would start crying ( I still love him though lol)...
Yes, I do find they have been a bit disappointing for now, and I still have hope in them, but who knows... they wouldn't be able to compete with a team like Brazil, that's a fact. They don't play with enough heart, they're just there to play, to look good.. they have to prove themselves!!!! Success doesn't come that easy.. They NEED TO TOUGHEN UP!!!!! I just don't care if others insult them or dis them, I still have faith in them.

I just saw something on a news site from Brazil, a italian killed a guy from thailand with a knife because he was cheering for Australia, and said the referee was bought.... I hope Italy finds the ultimate disgrace against Ukraine, like 10-0.

italy's a great team, the reason they fall down and wine and get off is to WASTE TIME. italy is doing better than i thought they would especially with the scandal going on.
