Check this guys record out on boxrec 51 wins 0 loses 1 draw with 26 world title fights in total you won't find many fighters with a better record than that. But looking on his record i don't recognise too many names from it as ive never really followed the minimumweight division so its hard to assess how good he really was. So is he as his record would suggest a modern day legend, or just the best fighter of his generation in a very weak and numbers wise small division?.

During the Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Jimrex Jaca pre-fight when they were respecting Willie Pep by doing a 10 count, some fans were howling and being noisy even after the announcer asked everyone for silence and to stand out of respect. Should those fans have been escorted out of the arena?

Memphis Mayor Willie Herenton, who ended his career as an amateur boxer 40 years ago, is training to go up against Joe Frazier. Herenton and Frazier square off on Thursday at the Peabody Hotel in a three-round benefit match for the Shelby County Drug Court. The mayor, now 66, won his first championship at the age of 14. But even at his height, he was never in Frazier's league, so he had to sign a waiver that absolves the former heavyweight champion from responsibility for any damage. "He's been hit by the hardest hitters in the world, so I don't think I'll do much damage," Herenton told the Memphis Commercial Appeal. But Herenton is taking the bout seriously. He has been training for several weeks with the manager of the police boxing gym and has cut down on desserts and wine. Frazier used his left hook against greats like Buster Mathis and Muhammad Ali. Herenton plans to keep his own best move a secret. "I know what he has, but he doesn't know what I have," he said.

In 1994, Roy Jones, a 3 -1 underdog, exploded onto the scene with his magnificent, one sided dismantling of then pound for pound king, James Toney.
For the next ten years, Jones was recognised as the best fighter on the planet as he steamrolled through three divisions; 168, 175 and culminating with his historic win over John Ruiz at heavyweight.

Toney, on the other hand, toiled in relative obscurity, as he lost his next fight after Jones, to Montell Griffin, also losing a rematch with Griffin and scoring another loss against unknown, Drake Thadzi.

Their respective places in boxing history seemed set.

Then Jones ran into Antonio Tarver and Glen Johnson, and was the victim of two brutal KO's.
At just about the same time, Toney exploded back onto the scene with his scintillating win over Vassiliy Jirov for the IBF Cruiserweight title. He followed that with a destruction of a past his prime Holyfield, his own, later nullified, win over Ruiz for the WBA Heavyweight title.

Bernard Hopkins be inducted into both or either the International Boxing Hall of Fame and/or the World Boxing Hall of Fame?
I believe both fighters are ranked in the top 15 all time in their respective weight classes (heavy and middle). The reason I ask this question is there are a few guys and gals who don't think highly of either fighter. Please explain why they belong or they don't belong.

This may be a difficult night for Winky if Quartey is on his game. Winky has good defense but Quartey has a strong jab and will be highly motivated coming off his "loss" to Vernon Forrest. What do you think will happen in this fight.
