Most if not all contact sports have equipment that protects the athlete (or at least limit the risk) of long term or serious injury. Why not boxing.

What does it make you feel to see two human being fighting each other, and hurting each other. What is more insane the fascination the public to watch and get excited about it while the fighters are hurting each other? Or the boxers who do it? What about the display of violence of the worship of force and our acceptation of it? what does it say about our society?

Would you want your children to become a boxer? would you want to be one?

Some of the fighters die, or suffer permanent damage from it?

I think it's collective hysteria and mental insanity...

Do you think it's right and cool? and why?

Boxing is a very popular sport, enjoyed by millions across the world. It is also a dangerous sport. Over 1000 boxers have died during or just after fights in the past one hundred years. Many more have been damaged for life by injuries in the boxing ring. Some of these victims were professional boxers who made their living from the sport. Others were amateurs boxing for fitness and fun, rather than for money. Sometimes it seems to be just one punch which does the damage. In other cases it seems to be the overall effect of hundreds of punches over many fights. For these reasons medical associations speaking for doctors all over the world have called for boxing to be banned.

What do you think? Should boxing be banned?
