Most over rated heavy weight---look at the whole career of a boxer or should I say puncher in his case. This guy is idolized by so many in this forum. He had a great early career and then couldn't get out of his own way in the 2nd half.

There will never be another boxer like Tyson, he was the most dominating boxer I have ever heard of and seen in my life. He would have still been the best if it had not been for the bad influences of the people that were around him, his life changed once cus d' amotto passed, once that happened he was not the same, then to add insult to injury he married the gold digger Robin Givens and she just completed his destruction, Tyson did not know if he was coming or going and add Don (The Pimp) King in to the equation and Tyson became an appetite for destruction(hmm, where are they now). I do not know him personally but from what we seen in the lime light he is a menace to society that needs to be stopped. Most recent troubles included.....I hope that Mike Tyson the person can work through his problems and enjoy the rest of his life without any problems.

I think Tyson was one of the baddest mo foes to step into a ring. No one has ever intimidated more opponents or knocked then out so quickly as iron mike. And my opinion is that Mike would have had a lot more beatings to dish out had he not gotten tied up with Don King.

As a boxing enthusiest, I think Mike Tyson was one of the most gifted and talented pugulists of all time. He beat Floyd Pattersons Youngest Heavyweight of all time record by winning the heavyweight title from trevor berbick when Tyson was only 20 years young. He knocked out his first 19 professional opponents and averaged 1:45 minutes per fight for his first two professional years. To this day I have never seen a heavyweight with as much power, speed, aggression, and ring dominance. Of course I am speaking of Tyson in his prime.
As an individual, I can only base my opinion of Mike Tyson on what the media portrays of him and what is available in public records as I do not know him personally. From those sources, he appears to be pretty much and unstable idiot, who never learned how to manage his talent and success in the ring, but instead indulges himself with anything his animal instinct decides to have or do, without regard to any moral, ethical, legal, spiritual, physical, psychological, or personal standards. He has disgraced boxing by that disgusting display of unsportsmanlike conduct against Holyfield. Furthermore he uses his name and past success to put on exhibition fights to try to pull himself out of his legal and financial duress and in doing so continues to make a mockery of the sport. There is no disputing his gift, and the fact that he had the opportunity to go down as the greatest boxer of all time. But in liue of his performance in and out of the ring subsequent to his loss to Buster Douglass, I think he should have his boxing lisence permanently revoked.

Don King. We all know Tyson should be set up for life, even after the upset to douglas. You can't blame him for every bad detail in his life. He had a lot of moochers in his corner and not enough disciplinarians to keep him in track. (Although I'll give Ritchie Giachetti a break) King exploited Tyson, not further his career.
