While watching NCAA March Madness, the commentators talk about transition quite often. What do they mean?

I never used to watch basketball, but I have been watching some of the NCAA games and I really like it. It's a sport that I have never had much interest for, but I really like it now that I have watched some of the game's. The only problem is that I don't understand everything that the commentators are talking about, and I still don't understand how the whole NCAA system works. Do teams from the West region play teams from the East, or are they completely separate until the final game in Atlanta? Also how does the NCAA brackets work? How do people know which teams to choose when they fill them out, even if the teams haven't played? I'm 15 and the only sport I have been involved with is soccer, so I would like to get more involved with basketball.

Do you have any suggestions on how I can understand it better, or is it too late now because I’m 15? Most kids I know that like basketball, have been involved with it since they young.

I never saw a team more overrated than duke,no matter how they start the season they always get a high ranking.duke is a team who alot of people thought was untouchable. My thumbs up to their lost. After all I think it was coach K that snubbed A.I for the Olympic team and put in that wanna be j j reddick. If you haven't guessed I hate duke

So I am a sophomore in high school and the basketball season is over now. I wanted to play but I haven't played on a basketball team in my life. My main sport is soccer and I am pretty good in that area. So I want to play basketball for my school and maybe in college but is it too late to start now?? Even if I am very athletic and , for the most part, know the game.

Now Now, lets all bring your emotions and hate that kobe is the best and that your superstar player whether its lebron, wade, nash, dirk, carter, or even if some of you are still living in the past, "michael jordan", let it all out here, so we dont have to read your ridiculous first grade posts of "kobe you suck" "kobe a ball hogger and not as good as mj" kobe cant play basketball he sucks" "kobe likes to rape women" " kobe is not good", let it all out here baby. =)

And shouldn't the NBA have a percentage of players from other races equal to that of the US population? Most work places have to follow these type of equal oppertunity employment practices. Should the NBA be exempt?
