I never saw a team more overrated than duke,no matter how they start the season they always get a high ranking.duke is a team who alot of people thought was untouchable. My thumbs up to their lost. After all I think it was coach K that snubbed A.I for the Olympic team and put in that wanna be j j reddick. If you haven't guessed I hate duke

They're not overrated. They typically have the best talent in the country. Everyone wants to play for Duke and Mike Kzychechi. Most years they're a number 1 seed. This year was different, but next year I'll guarantee they're a 1 seed again.

I hate Duke as much as the next person (I'm a Kentucky Wildcats fan, enough said right?), but to call Duke overrated is stretching it. They had a down this year because out of their roster of 14 players, 12 are freshman and sophomores. I don't really know of anyone who would be terribly successful with that young of a group in a tough conference. It's true, they should've gotten the lower seed, but VCU was no slouch. They gave Pitt all they wanted in that game today.
Also they're suffering from the same problem as Kentucky in trying to deal with the parody in college basketball today. I think it's even harder at Duke because not only is there such a standard for talent, but Duke is one of the toughest schools academically to get into in the nation. Plus as much as we hate him, Coach K is a great coach and will find a way to bring those young guys up to par.
I wouldn't count Duke out, they'll be right back in there next year in their usual form. Plus, what fun is it ragging on a team that isn't good? Don't kick em' while they're down, beat them while they're on the feet to make it look even worse : )

duke is the yankees. you hate to love them and so do i. duke is in a strong conference, so going .500 in the ACC is good for any team in the ACC. duke has a great coach in Coach K unfortunately and in college basketball coaching is soooo important. they get the best recruits every year. the media loves duke. they win 3 games it's a bid deal. they lose one it's a big deal. it's all hype with duke. dude they are the yankees of college basketball. duke is good even when the team stinks. the media is the reason for this.

Duke is not overrated. They are always good and are a team that will always perform in the playoffs. Also J.J. Redick did not make the Olympic team. And to the earlier answer (Duke is to college basketball as Notre Damne is to college football) Notre Damne is not the best at football. We got Nebraska, Michigan, Arkansas, Alabama and many others that are better than Notre Damne.

to say coach k is overrated is crazy what players from duke really made it big in the NBA?now compare that to Carolina,or to a GA. tech,even Wake Forest, Duke gets great players but are team players and are very smart but i would not say they get the best talent that is why coach k is very underrated.the acc is loaded with talent,

Iverson was on the 2004 Olympic team. That team was a disgrace, and only was able to "win" a bronze medal (in reality, you don't "win" a silver or bronze, you "LOSE" the gold").
That team was a disgrace, and should never have been allowed to wear uniforms with USA on them...it's an embarrassment to our country when our basketball team doesn't win the gold... a total embarrassment.

I don't think they are overrated, I think that everyone hates Duke and plays their hardest against them. It's really hard to win what you are expected when everyone brings their A- Game.
I know we didn't do good this year, and we might have been somewhat overrated, but not much. Next year will be a good year. GO DUKE!!!!

Duke is a media darling - and has been since their recent success began in the early 1990's. All you need to do to understand why they are overrated is watch ESPN. It is a perpetual love fest.
