Exactly!! It is so easy to fire a coach then what do you do? Maybe they've been grooming someone along for a couple of years. Other schools would kill for Tubby Smith.

Tubby is coming back next season. AD Mitch Barnhart is giving him the chance to revamp his staff before they attempt to let him go. And the real question should be, why would UK want to get rid of one of the winningest coaches in college basketball?

With that being said, I don't see anyone out there that is avaliable to come to Kentucky who would be a better coach then Tubby. There are only a handful of coaches who would be able to handle the pressure of that job and unless Billy Donovan is developing an allergic reaction to swamp water or Pat Riley is ascending from the NBA there isn't anyone. But should the time come, I see them hiring a) A former player or assistant at Kentucky and/or b) Probably a Pitino spin-off. Travis Ford has been making a name for himself and almost got UMass into the tournament in his first year there. And before his departure, he had made Eastern Kentucky an NCAA tourney regular. Also considering who he is, a former UK players and Pitino protege....then he'd be a front runner, at least in the eyes of Kentucky fans.

I don't see a high caliber coach really wanting to take the UK job because the fans and boosters have made it one of the top high pressure jobs in the nation. Nobody wants that.

If the Wildcats fire Tubby, the first hiring they'll need to make is a new AD, because anyone who would give Tubby the ax would be totally clueless...I know expectations are high down there, but from where I am--Pittsburgh--it looks as if he's doing a good job. (Of course, I wish I had a buck for every person calling for Bill Cowher's head over the past ten years....and he was a darn good coach.)

Hang in there, Wildcat fan....Tubby's a heck of a coach, and he'll get things turned around in Bluegrassland...probably sooner rather than later.

Ask coach ok what recruiting customarily 'white blue-chip' all-people gets you... a sluggish, non-aggressive product on the courtroom. what's this 'mildew' Tubby does not extra healthful? That he does not share Pitino or Rupp's epidermis color, which has been a controversy from day one whilst he took over this methodology, and the KU committed have consistently been finding for a reason to run him out of city. The Wildcat application replaced into in decline even whilst the great Rick Pitino replaced into in fee and prefer many different historic powerhouses, the expertise for runs in the NCAA's (UCLA and Louisville are evoked) has in basic terms no longer been there. supply it a relax, because of the fact your techniques for replace are susceptible at perfect.
