I sort of understand how qualifying works, I'm just not sure why they have it that way. Why can someone with a top 20 time fail to qualify? If you could explain Nascar's reasoning, and maybe your own insight into this it would be appreciated.

He could always race for DEI Could you imagine Tony Stewart in the #8 DEI car?

2007-10-31 16:00:27 · 34 answers · asked by Anonymous

For some reasoning I think all that dumb stuff is just "testing" for DEI's 2008 season. It's kinda obvious DEI is banking all their performance strategies on the #1 car. If Truex keeps doing what he's doing (and he feels mighty comfortable running in first position) I think he's gonna keep getting better to the point where he will be as good as Gordon or Johnson. Mark Martin just wants to "mentor" and you gotta love the guy for that. When all the dust settles and the 2008 season begins, what do you think will become of DEI?

Hendrick Motorsports probably has a current monopoly on the NASCAR racing scene, but there's always someone hunting them down. Will anyone come close in 2008? Who do you think it will be, and why.

Burton Smith wants to propose that driver's don't get fined for fighting after races, and that winners get a larger share of the purse.

Two questions: Does he have enough pull to change NASCAR's mind, and will these ideas improve the racing?

...Rick Hendrick said that Jimmie has done a lot in a short time as far as wins goes. Statistically if he carried on the same length of time his stats would be better some say.

...Question is, is there truth to that logic?

...Jeff Gordon has been with Hendrick's organization for a while. The notes that are shared in HMS are notes from many years of Gordon's experience.

...If Jimmie had to build his own notes would he had been as successful up to this point? Would he had struggled more trying to compete if everyone at HMS had kept their notes from him and made him work his own setups up from scratch?

...You don't have to be specific to each question but take all into acount and give a general opinion based on the two drivers I mentioned.

Who would you like to see your favorite driver (or any driver) dress up as, for Halloween?

I would like to see Kenny Wallace as a court-jestor! He cracks me up.

I think Jr. should dress up as Teresa with a magic wand, going around casting spells on all Jr.'s cars!

Go Jr.>>>>

The system used in Nascar is and has never been like any other sport! In the NFL it is an elimination system, best two teams go to the Superbowl. The winner of that game wins the championship!
Most other sports use the same system!
When Nascar gets to Homestead ( under the old system or the Chase system ) their are still 43 drivers that can win the race and as many of them that are close enough in points can win the Championship. It could be one or it could be a dozen.
How do those two systems compare?
You few that keep saying this know who I'm asking!
Please show me where I'm wrong!!
Thanks!

I'm not a 24 or 48 fan but I think Dale Jr will finally get the break he deserves. Hendrick's equipment is top notch and the word is that Tony Eury Jr. is excited about getting his hands on that equipment.
