I went to the web-site, gives very good information. My heart goes out to him and the truth is, sad to say, that he will probably never race again. Most recovery from a head injury occurs in the first 12-18 months. That is not to say that there are not improvements after that time, but it is not as substantial as that first few months. My information comes from the fact that my husband is still recovering from a head injury 4 years ago in a motorcycle accident. He doesn't remember the accident either which I am glad. I am sure it would be very painful to remember. As for his divorce, I am truely sorry, but until you have lived with this, you will never know the trials that you go through. The incident of divorce within 5 years of the injury is very high. I am in this for the long haul. I have come close, but we are happy most of the time and I have adapted to the memory loss and mood swings. I am truly lucky because my husband has been able to return to work and be a productive member of society, a little goofy at times, but WTH? aren't we all? I wish Jerry the best and I am just glad, that someone besides me remembers him and still cares.
