The person on TV was wrong. Camrys have to run engines with the approved Toyota block and cylinder heads in Nascar events. .

That engines run in nascar (by all the teams) are built at specific NASCAR approved engine builders using all NASCAR approved parts. The engines have NOTHING to do with the engines that the manufacturer/sponsor build in their factories and put in their road cars. None of the manufacturers build or install 5.7L, 358ci, carburated, high compression, leaded-gas buring, v-8 engines in their road cars.
For example, Robert Yates Racing built the engines for many of the Ford teams for years long before he had a complete team. However, the engine builders built engines for whoever will pay for them. Off hand I don't know the specific engine builders for the other makes.
So, really the motors that toyota runs in Cup are much closer to the motors chevy runs in cup than they are to the engines they put in camrys or corollas.

If you believe that the Cup engines have any connection at all to the road cars engines then you are probably also going to tell me that Cup cars have real headlights too.

It's true!! They're calling the new car a Chevroyta! Or was it a Toyvrolet?

Just messing around..... As one of the people above stated, there's no way that Toyota would put their name on a vehicle that wasn't running their engine. Not to mention that NASCAR wouldn't allow it.

They won't do that because Toyota will not put the Camry name on a car that has GM parts and they would certainly not get any help from GM for leaving them for Toyota. That rumor is false

You must have misunderstood what you heard. Toyotas have Toyota motors, Chevy's have Chevy motors, period!
