Although the FCC does not have a list, George Carlin once stated the 7 words you can't say on TV. The words "God" and "Dammit" are often not considered profane words. These are not the same words Drivers have been fined over.
If you disagree, you can file a report on the fcc.gov website.

I heard it too and wondered the same thing. When a driver does it, the announcers apologize. When Rusty did it, they glossed right over it. The drivers are in a more emotional situation than Rusty so you would think he would not get cut any slack. NASCAR can't do anything to Rusty, I suppose, but what about the FCC? Not sure what the regulations are. As someone else said, maybe god dammit has become more acceptable than words used by Jr and others, but that is sad in itself. I would think more people would be offended by what Rusty said.
Anyway, I am not crazy about Rusty as an announcer in the first place. If I were president of ESPN/ABC for one day, I'd hire Dale Jarrett to take Rusty's place next year!

It may have to do with their contract terms and conditions and then again, it may have to do with marketing. Assessing a penalty against a driver incites the passion of the fans while not too many would care if Rusty was deducted 25 points! You raise a valid point; however, I wouldn't doubt it that there may also be private reasons that go along with fining a driver and what the potential consequences could be - only NASCAR knows.

Wallace may well have been fined or reprimanded for that -- by the network which employs him. They wouldn't have issued a press release announcing the fact, though.
NASCAR had nothing to do with it. He doesn't work for them.
A few weeks ago during the Chinese Grand Prix, one of the announcers got excited and said that Hamilton's tires "went to s**t." No doubt there were consequences for that as well, but we're not likely to hear about them.

The Tv announcers are not Under Nascars scrutiny or authority and cannot be fined by Nascar as Jr. was. I know this isnt fair sounding but it is the way it is!!!!!

Rusty is an owner of a Busch team. He could be fined and points taken away but I wouldn't hold my breath.
