'Chelsea captain John Terry has warned leaders Manchester United that the Blues have not yet reached their full potential this season', so screams the headlines in sport pages and on the internet. Apparently their game against Newcastle was not entirely impressive - hence Mr. Terry's 'warning', I suspect. Only God knows how he - or even Mr. Mourinho would have acted had Newcastle secured a point...or had actually won. Where is the quiet confidence of days gone by...and does one think Manchester United will be 'terrified' by the 'warning'?

OK....so what was the deal Boston put up? 52 million for 6 years! Wow! Okay, so I know there are youtube vids showing Diasuke throwing this "supposed" gyrolball. And I know baseball analysts are all excited about there being a new pitch since the splitfinger fastball from the 1970s..
What I want to gather from this post is:
1.) Which of you do and do not believe that such a pitch exists.
2.) If such a pitch exits, what measures can hitters take to adopt their hitting styles to counter the gyro?

Between breaking at the worst times and being horrendously expensive, are composite sticks really an asset to hockey? I realize NHL etc., players don't have to pay for their sticks, but hockey is expensive enough without parents having to pay big bucks for sticks.

The AAA midget teams in my area already require that all players be equipped with composite sticks, so there's about $1000 the parents have to shell out in addition to everything else. It's things like that which keeps talented kids into house league where they just demoralize the average kids. And all the average kids probably want composite sticks too, because that's what they use in the NHL.
