'Chelsea captain John Terry has warned leaders Manchester United that the Blues have not yet reached their full potential this season', so screams the headlines in sport pages and on the internet. Apparently their game against Newcastle was not entirely impressive - hence Mr. Terry's 'warning', I suspect. Only God knows how he - or even Mr. Mourinho would have acted had Newcastle secured a point...or had actually won. Where is the quiet confidence of days gone by...and does one think Manchester United will be 'terrified' by the 'warning'?

Yeah, buddy...remember the mighty Liverpool of the mid seventies - the went about their business with minimum fuss. Keegan/Smith/Callaghan etc - they had no need to squeal their presence!

Lisa R...was thinking that myself - when a team is a wee bit fearful, they get one of their better players (be he overrated or not) to scream some blown-up claim to scare the team above them - but as you say...the team is Manchester United and the manager is Sir Alex Ferguson. I wouldn't have been surprised if it was Mourinho who was shouting the odds - he knows nowt about Scottish football managers - but Mr. Terry, being one of the few Englishmen in the Chelsea team should indeed have known better!

John Terry is probably right, Chelsea haven't quite hit the heights this season that they were doing a year ago, yet are still nicely placed in the league. I think Man Utd will take the warning seriously enough, but will not be 'terrified.' They have had a lot of experience of getting the better of impressive teams. In 1995, Newcastle were 12 points ahead at Christmas, yet Man Utd finished as Champions. In 2003, they also got the better of Arsenal who were 8 points ahead as late in the season as March.

Definitely not, your talking about a great team and a manager with a lot of experience. Fergie has been in this position before and knows how to handle it. Chelsea think that just by winning the league twice it makes you the best in the world, when its all about consistency which we have had for a long period of time. I very much doubt Mourinho will stay at Chelsea for the same amount of time Fergie has and he will never be such a legend. Terry's warning shows their the onces that are worried.
C'mon you reds!

It's half baked rhetoric and boring. I did however like Mourinho's one about Arsenal and Manchester United working together (WTF?!)

Fergie and a good number of our squad have the experience to stop any of the younger players being affected by their pathetic attempts at mind games. SAF is the master, ask Keegan.

Chelsea staff only give interviews saying that they haven't reached their best form yet and that they still have every opportunity to become champs. Why talk? Show it... And I haven't seen anything convincing lately.

the league is out of chelseas hands, they need united to slip up, and beat them at the bridge. no matter what war of words happens, we are 5 points clear, and if it comes to it we have the master of the mind games. sir ALEX.

Chelsea are crapping themselves. Fergie is the master of mind games, he won't let Jose win.
