The Equal Opportunity Employment Act makes it illegal for ANYONE to be told that they cannot try out for a professional team.
Baseball teams are too competitive to not allow a woman to try out if they wanted to do so.

It's possible, but very difficult. See, with the size of the major league field (as opposed to a softball field), the natural physical strength of women cannot easily compete with that of men. Especially at pitcher, where 90 mph fastballs are common. First base would be tough, because that position is based on batting power. Second base would be possible, but third and short would be tough because of the arm strength required, especially for short's deep throws from the hole. Outfield is just about out of the question, because of the 430 foot throws to the plate to get folks out. Catcher would be extremely difficult, owing to the tremendous arm strength needed to gun people at second.
And, its not called Men's Pro Baseball, it's called Major League Baseball.
What is a bat catcher? If you mean a batgirl, that's not actually playing in the MLB...

I'm afraid it's not going to happen.
There is just too much of a difference in terms of strength between men and women...the men who play in the major leagues are not only superior baseball players to all women, but they are also superior to 99.999999% of the men out there as well.
I can't believe you singled out catching as a position that you think a woman can play at the major league level. If you said first base that'd be one thing, but catching is the most difficult and physically demanding position to play at the major league level. And there is not a single woman in the world who is capable of playing catcher for a full major league season. Not even star major league players at other positions can step in and substitute for a catcher, and you think there's some woman out there who can do it? 'Fraid not.
You should just accept the fact that men and women are different. There are some things that men do better, and there are some things that women do better. And not even Oprah can change that fact.

Sure, no problem. If a woman has the skill, she could make it. Some complications with dressing rooms and the like would have to be worked out but if a woman could make a team better, gee, sign her up!
But every player at that level is the cream of the crop. You don't play in the 'show' if you can't play great ball.

most women aren't strong enough to hit the ball out of the infeild let alone have the bat speed to catch up to a 100 mph fastball. i'm not trying to sound sexist when i say this but it's fact. girls play softball for a reason. men are bigger faster and stronger thats why they play and women don't. It'd be like a girl playing in the NBA you might think that someone could do it until they have to guard 7'2 350lbs SHAQ. it's a lot harder than it looks.

The rules don't prohibit it, but it isn't going to happen for a long time, if ever. There have only been 3-4 to even play minor league ball and they didn't last long.

Of course they can play, and to the person above who said that at elast 3-4 have played in the Minors, I would like to see that list.
How hard is it to be a bat catcher anyway? I believe the term you meant to use was 'back catcher'. (-:
